Words: R. Hayes.
Suns and lovers look me up and down
They pick me up and they carry me around
Don't know what I did or what I have been shown
And all I can be sure of is I came in on my own
Thinkers and dreamers, I see them all the time
Some of them look far away and some of them look fine
Don't know how they get like this or how they can get home
And all I can be sure of is I came in on my own
I turn up with a smiling face and all about just
grin
There's one born every minute so I guess I must be him
Never seen so many people or felt so alone
And all I can be sure of is I came in on my own
The old man he laughs at me and tells me all his
jokes
He sips freely at his bottle then he coughts it up and chokes
Tells me where he's been before and where he calls his home
And all I can be sure of is I came in on my own
All I can be sure of is I came in on my own
It's a cold winter's night, I'm walking home it's
late
I see a couple walking, talking, having a debate
They seem to be so passionate yet both look so alone
And all I can be sure of is I came in on my own
My friends call me up and we go and have this drink
They're having a discussion and they're wondering what I think
What is life, what it means and what is known
I said all I can be sure of is I came in on my own
Cos I'm a cooped up, drugged up, loner in here
Some friends won't come to see me they daren't come this near
Can't get a pizza, they've cut off my phone
And all I can be sure of is I came in on my own
And all I can keep thinking is I came in on my own
And all I can be sure of is I came in on my own.
